[section_title title=”Introduction”]Introduction

Formed in the same year as I was born (1986), Antec are currently considered as a market leader in quiet and reliable components/products.  With its headquarters in Fremont California (very sunny), they have produced numerous products which have not only proved popular with consumers, but also with enthusiasts too.  With ranges such as the EarthWatt/TruePower power supplies, Performance One cases and even their Kuhler AIO CPU coolers, they certainly have a strong foothold and position in the current global market.

With that being said, today I will be taking a look at not just 1 cooler from Antec, but 2 from their latest Kuhler range of CPU coolers.  The Antec Kuhler 650 and 1250 encompass 2 different radiator sizes (120mm + 240mm) which should make for some interesting testing.  With my Intel i7 4770k primed and ready to push these coolers to the limit, how will they cope with Haswell being as hot as it is?  Only one way to find out, but let’s start with the specifications….

A little bit about the Antec Kuhler AIO Coolers:

Antec Kuhler 650

The Antec KÜHLER H2O 650 delivers high-performance liquid cooling for your CPU in a quick, easy-to-install package. Unlike traditional liquid cooling systems, this self-contained unit comes prefilled and requires no maintenance. The extra large pump circulates coolant through optimized water channels, while easy-bend flexible tubing allows the KÜHLER H2O 650 to be installed in nearly any orientation. In addition to easy installation, a powerful PWM fan pushes air through directional blades and channels it through the radiator for optimal cooling. Included in the box is an air duct that reduces static pressure which in turn, allows air to flow out of the case efficiently. Lastly, integrated firmware automatically adjusts fan speed and changes the RGB LED based on temperature. Engineered for maximum performance, the Antec KÜHLER H2O 650 delivers liquid cooling performance at an air cooling price.

Antec Kuhler 1250

The Antec KÜHLER H2O 1250 provides maximum-performance liquid cooling for your CPU and delivers
best-in-class performance in a quick, easy-to-install package. Unlike traditional liquid cooling systems,
this self-contained unit comes prefilled and requires no maintenance.

With the introduction out of the way, let’s take a look at the packaging and then the coolers themselves…
