Conclusion

The performance for both the Nepton 240m and 120XL was right on point with where we would expect it to be for an AIO CPU cooler.  I spent a weekend testing a bunch of coolers and when all was said and done, these Nepton coolers were atop the list as the best performers from the tests I ran. 2015 is a new year for cooler tests and the Nepton’s are looking to lead the pack for a while.  They both did a great job of keeping an overclocked 4770K well within acceptable temperatures, topping out at just over 42c during my testing which is quite amazing.

Speaking of leading the pack, when it comes to the acoustics at 12V the Nepton’s were the quietest coolers I had the pleasure of testing at the time, again leading the pack to start off 2015. There has been some concern around some of the Nepton coolers, especially the 240M but all I can do is go off the samples I had and they seem to work just fine!

The design of the cooler comes a lot from Cooler Masters in-house R&D department, especially the base plate. Cooler Master have said they have also used wider tubing than some AIO coolers to allow for better water flow throughout the unit and despite what others have said, it seems to work. The FEP tubing, in general, is supposed to allow for a better flow of water as it should not kink as easy as normal rubber tubing, though it may not look the most appealing, performance is key! The Nepton models are also completely black from radiator to fan and should fit in with most any build and not cause any eyesores.

When it comes to the value of the Nepton AIO I had on test today they fall right into their respective spots when considering AIO Coolers. AIO Coolers are generally a tad more expensive than the standard metal heatsinks with fans, and rightfully so. The Nepton coolers offer good performance, especially when it comes to the acoustics and they also come with a 5-year warranty which tells me, Cooler Master is very confident that these will not break and if you can get 5 years out of a CPU Cooler of any sorts, that sounds like a good deal to me.

When all is said and done I have seen some controversy around the newer Nepton coolers but from my experience, they function as they should and do a good job of keeping CPU temperatures to a minimum and as such I would like to award them both with our Gold Award!

I would like to thank Cooler Master for sending me their latest Nepton AIO cooler and look forward to seeing more from them in the near future.
